The Gray Wolf Ranch team and our distinguished guests will share critical insights into substance use disorder and the role of family participation during treatment. The forum will be held at Seattle South Public Library and is open to interested members of the public.

Susan “Shu” De Lapp is a mainstay and undeniable bright spot at Gray Wolf Ranch. A self-professed can-do girl, she’s known among staff and residents as a shameless proponent for campus residents. Twelve years after arriving at the campus, the Director of Education still makes it her daily mission to find new ways to teach, mentor and inspire. “I’ve always considered myself the ‘M’ in motivation and the ‘O’ in optimism. I help these guys rebuild self-confidence and develop self-esteem. We all have talents we should nurture, but sometimes we just don’t know what they are. I have the opportunity to help them figure out what those might be,” she says.

It’s a prescription. What’s the problem?

We trust our doctors to prescribe medications that will help us. We don’t often think about the possible consequences of filling a prescription. While therapeutic doses of a medicine may be helpful, many can be harmful, addictive, or even fatal if taken in excess or over an extended period of time.
