Gray Wolf Ranch’s ‘Team Mom’ & Chef Extraordinaire

Executive Chef Kelly Bell came to Gray Wolf Ranch nine years ago with an extensive background in the restaurant industry. “I’ve been cooking for almost 30 years, and I love it, but I love these guys even more,” she says.

Kelly, who views every meal as far more than “just food,” believes the young men she serves deserve to eat well. “Nutrition is crucial in early recovery. Susan “Shu” De Lapp is a mainstay and undeniable bright spot at Gray Wolf Ranch. A self-professed can-do girl, she’s known among staff and residents as a shameless proponent for campus residents. Twelve years after arriving at the campus, the Director of Education still makes it her daily mission to find new ways to teach, mentor and inspire. “I’ve always considered myself the ‘M’ in motivation and the ‘O’ in optimism. I help these guys rebuild self-confidence and develop self-esteem. We all have talents we should nurture, but sometimes we just don’t know what they are.
